How Our Team Bridges ArchiCAD and Revit for Smarter Project Delivery

At CUBICAE, we understand that no two design teams work the same way. Some studios prefer Archicad, others rely on Revit — and many projects demand that both platforms work side by side. That’s where our team adds real value.

By combining our expertise in Revit (for MEP and structural engineering) with ArchiCAD (for architectural design), we create a unified workflow that connects disciplines, reduces risk, and supports smarter project delivery from start to finish.

Why Bridging Archicad and Revit Matters

Architecture is collaborative by nature. Yet too often, architects, engineers, and consultants struggle to share information across different software environments. This disconnect can lead to:

  • duplicated work,

  • late-stage design clashes,

  • and costly construction errors.

Our solution is simple: instead of forcing one workflow onto everyone, we bridge Archicad and Revit into a shared BIM process. This allows architectural studios, MEP engineers, and structural teams to contribute seamlessly without changing the tools they trust.

Our BIM Coordination Roadmap

We’ve developed a clear roadmap for multidisciplinary collaboration. Here’s how it works:

  1. Central Setup – MEP and structural engineers build their Revit central files.

  2. Export & Data Sharing – All models are exported to IFC and shared via a cloud server with drawings and markups accessible to the entire team.

  3. Integration into Archicad – MEP and structural IFC models are imported into Archicad, where our architects manage the master model in Teamwork.

  4. Coordination & Clash Detection – We run collision checks, review markups, and resolve issues digitally before they reach site.

  5. Publishing & Review – The federated model (architecture, structure, and MEP) is published to the cloud for access in BIMx, Solibri, Navisworks, BIMcollab, or lightweight IFC viewers like Dalux.

This process ensures that everyone works from a single source of truth, regardless of which software they prefer.

Smarter Collaboration for Every Team

  • For Architects – No need to leave Archicad; you still control design intent while gaining insight into MEP and structural systems.

  • For Engineers – Revit remains your primary tool, but models are integrated and coordinated within the architectural workflow.

  • For Project Managers – Clear information flow, early clash detection, and compliance with ISO 19650 reduce risk and keep deadlines on track.
